The many routes to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland pass through magnificent Glens, mountains passes and spectacular loch-side locations. Driving from London will take 8-10 hours depending upon route and traffic and will take you through some of Britain's finest scenery.

The gateway ports to head for are Oban, Mallaig, Ullapool and Thurso to provide connections to the Hebrides and Northern Isles. Petrol stations are well distributed throughout the Highlands and Islands. National coach services serve Glasgow, Fort William and Inverness, plus Scottish services serve all other small towns.
