Bressay and the Isle of Noss

For those who enjoy exhilarating walks and dramatic coastal scenery, Bressay will not disappoint.  Taking a boat trip around the island provides you with something that we all should do now and again - the chance to see things from a different perspective. Imaginge the thoughts and emotions of Norse travellers seeing these dramatic cliffs for the very first time after a long, perilous sea journey, and imagine how you would feel if this was your first encounter of a place you were hoping to call home.

The Isle of Noss is a Natural Nature Reserve managed by Scottish National Heritage.  Accessible only by ferry from Bressay and home to approximately 60,000 birds, a visit to this island is a truly unforgettable experience!  Heather clad moorland offers the occassional splash of colour with wild flowers - although dive bombing birds add spice for island explorers.  To escape back to nature, this is the island for you.
